The micro-region of Upper Herzegovina encompasses the municipalities of Konjic, Jablanica and Prozor/Rama. Relief and vegetation in these areas are distinctly different from the rest of Herzegovina. The climate is moderately continental, and climatic conditions in mountainous areas are ideal thanks to the influence of the Mediterranean climate that penetrates through the valley of rivers Neretva and Rama.
This whole area has always been attractive for human settlements. The natural conditions of the area make an attractive base for the development of almost all forms of continental tourism. It features many coniferous forests: pine, fir, spruce, cypress, etc., which create beautiful mountain landscapes at all times of the year. There are also many lakes, among which the best known are Ramsko, Jablaničko and Boračko Lake. The Neretva River Canyon with its steepness and untouched nature creates incredible sights. Water streams on the mountain peaks flow over ravines and create waterfalls of exceptional beauty.
In this rural area, tourists have the opportunity to experience many interesting activities such as: hiking, camping, rafting, fishing, kayaking or canoeing, biking, paragliding, etc. If there is place where the nature has been generous, it is this area.
